Lamentations 3 from The Message. (c) 2013 Stephanie Raquel

This past week, my Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study had the chance to bless an organization called Dove’s Nest in Charlotte, N.C. in our study, “What Happens When Women Say Yes to God” by Lysa TerKeurst.  We’ve shared prayers, encouraging scripture cards, and financial contributions.  At last count, we were up to approximately $20,000 donated!  WOW!  That’s a whole lotta sayin’ YES!

We also had the opportunity to write a letter to someone who’s staying at Dove’s Next, part of the Charlotte Rescue Mission.  Here’s mine…

Oh Dear One,

You might be reading this wondering what on earth has brought you to this place.  And although I don’t know all the details, I do know that GOD does.  He knows the hairs on your head, the troubles in your heart, the battles you have faced, and the tears you have cried.  Continue Reading…

So Lord, I do pray.  I pray for all the kids who return to school again in the coming weeks.

 Dear God,

I pray for our children to learn and grow and stretch their minds, and be disciplined in their studies.  I pray they may have favor with their teachers.  I pray they grow in wisdom and stature, like Jesus did.  I pray they will be honest and fair and treat others the way they wish to be treated.

I pray for them to form new friendships, and to reinforce ‘old’ friendships as well.  I pray they can help welcome ‘the new kid’ – whoever that may be.  I was ‘the new kid’ myself when I was a child.  Continue Reading…

Five answers.

If only life were that simple, right?

In her book, What Happens When Women Say Yes to God, Lysa TerKeurst describes five questions that have helped her discern the will of God and hear His voice.  Five questions that cause us to ask, “Say what!?  Did I really hear God’s voice??”  Here they are: Continue Reading…
